Devínska Kobyla (German: Thebener Kogel) is a mountain in the Little Carpathians, within the territory of Bratislava, Slovakia, between the boroughs of Devínska Nová Ves, Devín and Dúbravka. At an altitude of 514 m (1686.3 ft) AMSL, it is the highest point of Bratislava. The area has been a national natural reserve since 1965. From the top, it is possible to see Bratislava, Austria, Hungary, the Danube and the Morava River. This is where a missile military base was built in 1980's. This base was closed and missiles were removed after the end of communism. The former military base is not open for public, but courageous visitors can see reinforced concrete silos there.

Plitvicka jezera (Plitvice Lakes)

Nestled in a cluster of lush mountains is a mysterious ancient forest known as the "Devil's Garden," where the olm, lynx, black stork, and Ural owl live together in an enchanted world of thunderous waterfalls, cascading lakes, and subterranean caverns. Plitvice Lakes National Park in the heart of Croatia consists of 16 beautiful blue-green lakes, linked by a series of waterfalls and cascades to form a chain through a wooded valley. Over thousands of years, the waters that flow through this area have passed over limestone and chalk, creating deposits which form natural barriers between the lakes.
